Kids will run hard during the day and play until they can’t play any more. When evening comes they’ll still be looking for fun things to do because they’re made that way. There are some fun things you can do with flashlights that they will enjoy and will help ease them into feeling ready to sleep.
Flashlight Hide and Seek
You only need one flashlight for this game and the one who holds it is the seeker. Everyone hides just as in the regular game but the seeker can use the flashlight to find their way and to discover the hiders. You can make it so that a time frame is set and the most people found in a given time is the winner. Then each person gets a turn at being the seeker.
You can use two flashlights for this one. Two people face each other, each holding a flashlight. Cross the beams and the rest of the players have to limbo underneath the combined light beam. It’s a lot of fun and easy to see when some gets touched by the light.
Shadow Puppet Show
The kids will enjoy putting on a shadow puppet show for the grown ups. They can use flashlights under their chins to light their faces and make up the characters, plot, and outcome.
The flashlight games to play with kids you were just taught about are fun for the whole family. Kids love to play new games, and you can make them a camping tradition. Just make sure that you bring enough batteries so the fun can go on if they run out!
