Kids can help with chores at the campsite in a number of ways. Depending on their age, much of the day to day chores can be taught to them. They like it best when you work alongside them and the whole project can feel like fun.
One thing that kids can help with is preparing food. You may not want your kids to be around the fire cooking any of the food, but you can have them help you prepare the meals. You can do this in an RV or at a campsite. Show your kids how to make sure to be safe by washing their hands before and when they are done handling food. They can also help set and clear the table. They will be proud of their accomplishments.
When you are at a campsite you are going to generating a sizable amount of trash. You can teach the kids clean up after themselves when they are eating and doing a site check each night before bed. They will learn to respect nature and work as a team.
When kids help with the chores at the campsite it makes them feel like part of the experience. It can be a lot of fun when everyone pitches in and, of course, their hard work can always be rewarded with some tasty s’mores around the campfire.
They are going to love being part of the camping experience and they will learn how to be a camper which is something they can teach to their own children when the time comes.
