Camping kids have a way of enjoying simpler things around the campground than they do at home. They get to spend more time with parents and grandparents and they are open to learning new things. It’s a perfect time to teach them some of the simpler pastimes you enjoyed as a kid.
Remember those songs you used to sing while clapping hands with a friend? Here’s a video of Miss Mary Mack. It will take you back a year or two.
Another fun one to teach the kids is Cat’s Cradle. Most of us played it for hours with our school friends.
And there’s always the fun of making and playing a Cootie Catcher.
Try a few of these with the kids on your next camping trip. They will love it and you’ll have a lot of laughs from revisiting these old favorites.
